“Last Train To Deadsville” & “The Nail” TPBs Coming in March, 2004

November 9th, 2004 by Administrator

We just got these little notes from Dark Horse Comics about a collection for “Last Train To Deadsville” and “The Nail” coming from the publisher in February. Here’s their solicitation text:

LAST TRAIN TO DEADSVILLE: A CAL MCDONALD MYSTERY TPB
STEVE NILES (W) and KELLEY JONES (A)
On sale March 30, SC, 144pg, FC, 7″ x 10″, $14.95

Supernatural private eye Cal McDonald thinks he’s seen it all, at least until a couple of rampaging rednecks bust through his door hootin’ about demonic possessions. Thus begins Cal’s most spine-chilling (and side-splitting) case yet, as these Beverly Hellbillies take him down a trail of terror into the heart of a Southern California backwater brimming with monsters and mullets. Can Cal and his living-dead partner Mo’Lock save an entire town from the nastiest spirit this side of the river Styx? Will Cal’s girlfriend Sabrina forgive him for forgetting Valentine’s Day before they’re overcome by a demonic horde? And just how did little Billy Ray end up with a portal to Hell in his bedroom? All will be revealed in this collection courtesy of über-scribe Steve Niles and fantastically frightful art-meister Kelley Jones. Collecting the four-issue miniseries.

THE NAIL TPB
STEVE NILES (W), ROB ZOMBIE (W), NAT JONES (A), and JAY FOTOS (A)
On sale March 30, SC, 96pg, FC, 7″ x 10″, $12.95

Hunted in one of the most desolate regions of America, preyed upon by an evil that does not sleep, Rex Hauser is The Nail—and it’s time he took a stand. A semi-pro wrestler, Hauser has been touring the country performing at small-time arenas until the fateful night he and his family run afoul of a bloodthirsty gang of Satanic bikers stalking the North Dakota Badlands. Now he’s a lone man fighting for the survival of his loved ones in a no-holds-barred standoff against the forces of Hell itself! Co-written by the newly formed CREEP International writing team of modern horror masters Rob Zombie and Steve Niles, The Nail is a relentless, unflinching portrait of the heart of darkness, and what one man will sacrifice to hold it at bay. Collecting the four-issue miniseries.

So, what did Steve Niles dress up as for Halloween?

November 3rd, 2004 by Administrator

This past weekend we all celebrated that which is our favorite holiday, Halloween! And while you were out and about, whether it be trick or treating, scaring the crap out of neighborhood kids, or partying like one mad stylin’ zombie, you probably thought to yourself, “Hrmm, I wonder what Steve Niles dressed up as for Halloween?” Well, we’re happy to answer that question for you. With the help of the wonderful make-up artists at Cinema Secrets in Los Angeles, CA, Steve Niles went from mild-mannered horror writer to Frankenstein’s Monster in a matter of moments! Here’s some pictures of Steve’s make-up session.
