Hyde is a 48-page, full color one-shot with a retail price of $6.99.

IDW Announces the Publication of SECRET SKULL

May 27th, 2004 by Administrator

San Diego, CA, May 26, 2004—IDW Publishing debuts Steve Niles’s Meeednight Pulps with Secret Skull, an eruption of ghouls, girls, guns and goons. A mysterious killer is on the loose in the city, but this killer only kills bad guys—or those about to be bad.

Steve Niles (30 Days of Night, Remains) and talented newcomer Chuck BB deliver the new horror pulp, bringing all the fun and action of the classic pulp adventures to a modern audience.

“I’ve been wanting to do something really pulpy and fun,” says Niles. “When I saw Chuck’s art I knew I’d found the right man for the job. This is going to be really fun!”

Chuck BB added, “I think Steve and I find common ground with our passionate love of skulls. But this comic has a lot more to boast than simply skinned human craniums. It’s a real story, with characters that I think Steve made easy to relate to. Personally, I’m just psyched to be making comics with Steve Niles, and drawing skulls to boot.”

Secret Skull #1, on sale in September 2004, is a 32-page, full color comic book with a retail price of $3.99.

Entertainment Weekly gives RETURN TO BARROW high marks!

May 10th, 2004 by Administrator

The good people at Entertainment Weekly gave 30 DAYS OF NIGHT: RETURN TO BARROW high marks in their most recent issue. They said:

Horror writer Steve Niles and idiosyncratically scribbly artist Ben Templesmith scored a sleeper hit with their clever 2002 tale of a vampire attack on a darkness-swallowed Alaskan town. In this third installment, the bloodsuckers are back – and Niles has concocted enough fresh suspense to allay any fears that 30 Days of Night is being overfranchised (after the horde of spin-offs, what’s next, fang floss?). Will Barrow’s new sheriff coax the secrets from the frost Barrow survivors? And what’s with the gory headless vamp? It all plays like the Wachowskis taking on Anne Rice…without all the lame-ass philosophy. A- – Tom Russo
You can still purchase copies of issue #1 and #2 from your favorite retailer or in the SteveNiles.com Store.
