Steve Niles and Kieron Dwyer Take On Zombies in ‘Remains’

July 15th, 2003 by Jonah Weiland

Official Press Release

Remains
San Diego, CA, July 11, 2003. In Las Vegas, it’s sometimes hard to tell the regular people from zombies. But when Steve Niles, the modern master of horror comics, brings out Remains with artist Kieron Dwyer, the differences will become apparent.

Scheduled for spring 2004, Remains is destined to be the next success in a Steve Niles string that includes 30 Days of Night, Dark Days, Wake the Dead, and the Cal McDonald novels and comics. Kieron Dwyer, best known for his work on Last of the Independents, Nocturnals, Avengers and other projects, is the perfect artist to bring Remains to un-life, with a distinctive style and an eye for the right horrific detail.

IDW’s Editor-in-Chief Jeff Mariotte said, “The imagination of Steve Niles is a fertile and twisted wasteland from which the scariest ideas spring forth like flowers, or maybe mutated snails, after a heavy acid rain. Between him and the brilliant Kieron Dwyer, Remains is sure to become an instant terror classic.”

“I’ve been wanting to do two things for a while now; work with Kieron and do a modern living dead story,” says Niles. “Now, with Remains, I get to do both. This is going to be a very sick ride.”

Remains will be a five-issue, standard format comic book miniseries, debuting in late spring.
